Energy-Link provides commercial, trading, risk management, price forecasting and financial support services to the electricity and gas industry in
the UK, Ireland and throughout Europe.
We have been advising in the electricity
and gas markets since early in 2000. |

Energy Link has developed a number of trading and electricity forecasting
models for the UK and Irish market. The company uses these in-house models
as part of its analysis, as well as selling independent forecasts to key players in
the energy market. |

| BETTA IMPLEMENTATION |
| Being Scottish based, and with a number of major Scottish clients, Energy-Link in closely involved in the progress of BETTA. Recent assignments have
included analysis of the impacts of BETTA on behalf of a large Scottish
thermal generator, a wind turbine develop in Scotland and also a proposed
biomass generator. |
| CHP PLANT
OPTIMISATION |
| In the CHP sector we have renegotiated Energy Purchase Agreements
(EPAs) and gas contracts with the CHP developers to address industrial client concerns
relating to change in circumstances and market developments. These
renegotiations have resulted in significant savings for our clients whilst
creating flexibility for the CHP owner to optimise operations in the current
electricity and gas markets. This involved deep and detailed
understanding of markets and plant and had
required the development and use of analytical models which
could quantify risks and benefits. |

| ANALYSIS TOOLS |
Energy-Link develops its own in-house optimisation models for economic,
energy-trading risk and optimisation dispatch analysis. These models assist
Energy-Link in formulating strategies for clients and have proved invaluable
in a number of projects. Our models utilise a combination of Mixed Integer
and Linear Programming using Lindo Systems
solvers. |
